A Mini Cooper club in Lagos?! The Nigerian car scene is an ever-growing sight, but we’re all used to seeing overly powerful German cruisers and Italian rockets…well maybe just me.

Was shocked when the boss called me that he rounded up some of the coolest Mini Cooper owners in Lagos for a meet and drive, Minis?! I had to experience this!

The owners slowly arrived at the meeting point in different types of Mini Coopers, from the big and practical Club Man to the small to the sportier S models and a nippy John Cooper works with a wonderful exhaust note reminiscent of the early unadulterated Mini Coopers from the 80s.

It was an early Saturday morning in what is fast becoming the most congested city in the world…what do we do?! A quick drive around the open roads of Lagos Island of course! What better way to ease off some stress than a drive around the city with some passionate car enthusiasts who made sure they came regardless of health issues…now that’s what you call passion!

The drive across the city ended with some breakfast and some more photos to cap off an awesome morning with some of the coolest Mini owners in Lagos.

We need to have more car meets and open road drives like this.

Check out our review on the Mini Cooper S and a loud Fiat 500 Abarth and no, a Fiat 500 didn’t come to crash the party.
