Jet Motor Company – An Indigenous Company Taking Nigeria into the Electric Future
The company was founded in 2017 as the “Jet Motor Company” and they have been making customizable minibusses since then…though they seem to have a couple of vehicles teased for a release on their website.
Speaking of new vehicles, the company wants to take itself further up the manufacturing scene by making fully electric minibusses.
According to their Director of Sales and Marketing, Rupani Sanjay, “We wanted to create a global product that is built to last. We were obsessed with getting it right because, if our vehicles can work well on Nigerian and African roads, they can succeed anywhere in the world.”
Thankfully, they just got $9 million for research and development which will put them at the forefront of homemade electric vehicles in Nigeria, they still have to battle with the question of how they’re gonna get the citizens of a country with a ridiculously poor power supply system to buy them.
They claim the range will be around 300km for the minibusses, which seems alright, but what will the average charge time be like? Let’s wait and see.
